Mortgage Rates Dip, Weekly Survey Finds

The average rate on 30-year mortgages fell to 5.66%, down from 5.72% last week, mortgage company Freddie Mac said.

For 15-year mortgages, a popular option for refinancing, rates declined to 4.96%, down from 5.03% last week. Rates for one-year adjustable mortgages decreased to 3.57% compared with 3.61% last week.

The nationwide averages for mortgage rates do not include add-on fees known as points. Each loan type carried an average fee of 0.7 point this week.
